  • Notes
    • "Mullagban marriages: Rose-Anne Hannaway married Patrick Maguire/McGuire of Mayobridge (east of Newry). And then whatever happened she became a widow. Where he went I don’t know. She became a widow and come back home and was buried in Mullaghban" (audio recording of Eugene McCann in 2016).

Patrick Maguire's first child was born in 1891 to Elizabeth Shiels. Elizabeth had a child in 1894 but died from complications shortly afterwards. Patrick went on to marry Eliza (Bessie) McClory from Ballyvalley (Banbridge north of Newry) in 1895 and they had two children and Eliza looked after the 2 children of Elizabeth Shiels (1901 census).
Patrick Maguire had married Elizabeth McClorey in 1895. The marriage records show that he was a "Widower" so his marriage to Rose Ann Hannaway (aged 38) was in fact his third marriage
