    • "John the Rocks right name was Maxwell (Maxol) Kelly" (2020 info from Patsy Collins [Grey] of Levelamore). John and his father's family had the moniker "Maxol" (not Maxwell) to differentiate them from other Kelly families.
      "That (Rose-Anne Bennett) was the first of three wives. To that poor woman Rose-Anne Bennett, he had maybe 4 or 5 children; they all died young-the eldest was 18". (2016 audio of Eugene McCann, local historian). "He buried 4 or 5 children and 3 wives before he died himself: John the Rocks." (a separate audio in 2016 of Eugene McCann, local historian of Ballykeel). In the 1901 census John was aged 28 and born in "Co. Armagh".

In June 1945 Peter Hannaway married Sarah Byrnes in Lislea, County Armagh. Welcome to the pages of their families.
