  John McArdle is a tenant in Aughadanove townland in 1864 (Griffiths Land Valuations). He occupies household plot Nos 8 and 9. Sarah McGlade takes over No8 in 1881. In the same year a "Mary McArdle" takes over No9. This could be John's wife Mary McArdle (formerly McGlade). His daughter Mary McArdle, is by now married and is "Mary McGinnis".
