  • Notes
    • Ellen Henry married Stephen Larkin from nearby Tamnabane in 1889. In the April 1901 census the couple are living in Tamnabane with Patrick Henry, aged 80 (less than a mile from Ellen's home in Ballintemple). Patrick enters Ellen as his "Daughter" (the entry appears to have been amended) but we know from her marriage records her father is Owen Henry of Ballintemple - who is now 82. So was Patrick Henry a brother of Owen & Michael Henry? Perhaps an arrangement of convenience; the young couple would help the elderly widower and inherit his land? Patrick Henry died 6 months after the census - in Oct 1901. Present was "Stephen Larkin, Nephew". In 1907 Ellen Henry's husband Stephen Larkin takes over Patrick's 11 acres "House, offices & Land" in Tamnabane (Griffiths Land Valuation Revisions).
In the 1901 census Ellen Henry & Stephen Larkin have five children: Patrick (aged 10), Daniel (8), Maryanne (5), Sarah (4) and son Francis (1).
