In the 1901 census Anne is entered as aged 79 - so born about 1822 - civil records did not commence until 1864. However her first child in 1866 would make Anne aged 44. The last born to her was John in 1876 - this would then make Anne aged 54! The 1901 census entries are not in the handwriting of the enumerator/constable nor of the signator "Annee Loye". On the evidence of her children's births 1822 is too early for Anne's birth. There are no other Ann/Anne Loy/Loye in Umeracam at the census, only our "Annee Loye" with son James.
